Sue Matthews Myers

My favorite things are grown and cultivated. Gardening, canning, and spinning my alpaca and sheep fleece into a yarn or ready to wear piece of art is deeply fulfilling to me.

The fiber is first grown by my animals. Shearing takes place in the spring. Then I clean and start dreaming of what the fiber needs to be. I dye it colors, if that strikes me, or use the natural color. Spinning or the design of a felt picture happens next, and my home is filled with the whirl sound of the spinning wheel as the family gathers in the evening. My color bins of fiber are creative inspiration.
